Dragoon Mountains · St David, Arizona
A historic mineral spring retreat sheltered in the pines, where time slows and the land speaks in a language older than memory.
Our Story
For generations, Kokopelli Springs has been a sanctuary where the Dragoon Mountains meet the sky—a place where mineral waters emerge from ancient rock and the silence is so complete you can hear your own thoughts.
Nestled along East Mulberry Street in the quiet community of St David, our resort carries the spirit of the old Southwest. The name Kokopelli honors the fertility figure from Hohokam and Ancestral Puebloan traditions, a reminder that this land has always been sacred.
Today, we welcome travelers seeking something genuine— not a manufactured experience, but an authentic encounter with the desert landscape, its history, and its slow, deliberate pace.
The Heart of the Resort
Warm mineral waters, rich in calcium and magnesium, rise naturally from the earth and flow through stone channels carved by time itself.
The largest of our natural pools, fed by underground aquifers that filter through limestone and sandstone. The water maintains a constant, soothing warmth year-round— cool in summer, steaming in winter.
Smaller, more secluded pools offer a quieter experience. These intimate settings are perfect for contemplation, reading, or simply listening to the wind move through the juniper and piñon pine.
The mineral-rich runoff nourishes rare desert flora— wildflowers bloom where the water seeps through, and the surrounding landscape shifts through seasons of unexpected color and life.
Lodging
Simple, comfortable rooms designed to frame the landscape rather than compete with it. Each space honors the materials and craftsmanship of the region.
Wood-framed rooms with hand-built furnishings, private porches, and views toward the Dragoon Peaks. Each cabin features original architectural details from the resort's early decades.
Our main lodge offers larger rooms with high ceilings, exposed timber, and a communal atmosphere. The lodge hearth is the gathering place in the evening, where stories are exchanged over desert-grown coffee.
Beyond the rooms, the resort grounds invite wandering—trails lead to overlooks, the spring channels run through shaded gardens, and the night sky reveals more stars than you knew existed.
